Vida Nueva

Born in 2005 on the outskirts of the large city of Florianopolis, in the state of Santa Catarina,  in the south of Brazil. It deals with homeless people, moradores de rua. The first reception  it is experienced as the beginning of a journey of commitment, made of knowledge, of identity recovery,  of the study and therefore of starting work and reintegration into society.

The Vida Nueva Community Association has two offices: in Brazil in the Municipality of Palhoça and in Italy  at the priestly fraternity of the pastoral unit of San Venanzo.

The association in Brazil, welcomed by the Florianopolis Ordinary Archbishop Dom Murillo SR  Krieger sc and the auxiliary Dom Giuseppe Negri, inaugurated the Village in December 2006  Paolo Angelini in Enseada de Brito, on the southern outskirts of the capital. The current Archbishop  Dom Wilson Tadeu Jönck supports our business with particular attention.

The Associação Vida Nueva civilly recognized by the Government of Brazil works in collaboration  with social and welfare services, as well as with  various associations, volunteers and ecclesial movements.

The internal activity of the village is organized according to a  family-home criterion with participation in various  aspects of everyday life: various services at home,  cultivation of vegetables and fruit, animal husbandry,  religious crafts, bakery, remedial school courses,  moments of play and civic training. A  external team composed of psychologists, social workers  and health workers look after the various socio-educational areas.


Currently the Vida Nueva Community Associação  works in Brazil with brother priests of the OSMdL,  a religious and some young aspirants to the religious life  and priestly.
