Opera Santa Maria della Luce

The community's engagement with the Mexican capital began when the Shrine of the  Our Lady of Light of Collelungo actively participated in the foundation of the Nuestra Señora de la Luz Monastery-Sanctuary in Mexico City (1992) by some  Poor Clare nuns of Orvieto, Spello and Montalto Marche who, under the guidance of Mother  Maria Grazia Fabioneri, chose to give life to a missionary experience in Città del  Mexico and to entrust their lives to the intercession of Mary, Mother of Light.

June 21st  of 1996, thanks to the availability of Alitalia, a valuable copy leaves for the mission  frescoed by the Roman painter Fulvia Dante destined for the Mexican sanctuary.

Today the Poor Clares assisted by the Friars Minor Conventual of the province of Sicily live there  their vocation as contemplatives inserted in a context of full participation in life  of the poor of the Valle de Argon, offering devotees of the Holy Virgin a point of  important reference and support for those who need help and understanding.
