Opera Santa Maria della Luce

The San Bartolito Mission is linked to the parish of the same name on the outskirts of Mexico City.

San Bartolito is a town hall of 35 thousand people and extends for several kilometers  fractions. The population lives mainly from agriculture and small commercial activities.

The Clinic-Pharmacy is directed by sr. Apollonia  (Polita) Chime Chinyere of Nigerian origin.

​

Sister Apollonia, member of the Community Association  Nazareth, is a cardiologist and pediatrician and  he carries out his apostolate, serving poor people  and the sick, especially children and the elderly.

​

At the moment she is assisted by young postulants of the Opera  S. Maria della Luce and volunteer girls  who follow her in her mission as a doctor and collaborator  pastoral care in the Parish of San Bartolito.

​

This important missionary service is added,  therefore, to our presence in Mexico which began with the opening of the Nuestra Señora de la Luz Monastery-Sanctuary and with the collaboration of the CELM center (Centro Leonardo  Murialdo) directed by the Murialdine Sisters and under the pastoral guidance of Frs. Giuseppini of  Murialdo.
